Why on earth would I? It was a great experience, I learned a ton of stuff and did a ton of stuff, got to know some great people who became friends with me and made a big thing that has touched a lot of people in a positive way. Very few single decisions I’ve made in my life have come anywhere close to having such positive consequences as the decision to make KS.
You have to realise that there’s a pretty big difference between being self-critical and realistic, and some kind of bizarre self-loathing that the question seems to imply. I’m really fucking proud of KS and I totally like it. Yeah, it has a ton of flaws, is amateurish and kinda mediocre and it’s not in a genre that I look for as a reader, I want to be honest about that. I don’t need to sugarcoat my feelings of KS because I made it. The bar for greatness is pretty high for me and there’s nothing to gain from pretending that we could’ve reached it on the first try.
